Behavioural Change.

Site team engagement alongside Utopi data saw a resident reduce their energy consumption.

See above for a graph showing electricity consumption before and after the site team’s intervention. They received a Resident Outlier Report and used the data to engage with, and support, the resident in making behavioural changes.

Scenario.

Armed with real-time data from the Utopi Platform, one PBSA Operator was able to engage a resident and saw her daily average energy consumption reduce by 6.9kWh in just 2 months.

The space was averaging 17.2 kWh per day in November, at an average temperature of 27.8°C.

For context, the average 2-3 bedroom house only uses 7.94 kWh per day.

The site team knocked on the resident’s door, discussed the energy consumption with her and helped educate her on what changes could help the planet. The resident was keen to work with the site team, regularly checking in on her progress.

Resolution.

With the help of Utopi’s data reports, she was able to track her performance and see the difference her changes in behaviour were making. She continued to reduce her energy consumption over a 2 month period.

By January, average consumption reduced by over 59% to 10.3 kWh per day. The average temperature also reduced by 27.8°C to 24.4°C.

The result?

A potential annual energy saving of £770.
